If a 75 year old person lives a healthy lifestyle, then he / she will have longer life expectancy for up to 5 – 6 years and more.

Swedish researchers discovered that you can start a healthy lifestyle even at old age. Healthy life attitude will give significant benefits and improve life expectancy even for those who only just started at their old age.

According to the British Medical Journal, when a 75 year old person conduct a healthy lifestyle, then his / her life expectancy will be prolonged for 5 – 6 years and more. This conclusion is based on trials conducted to 1.800 people age 75 or more.

The scientists have been observing them for 18 years. Most of the volunteers passed away before the experiment is over. But, some of them are still alive until today. Half the participants are now in their 90s.

According to Genius Beauty, there are several factors that determined life longevity, they are:

  1. Gender (woman tends to live longer),
  2. Level of Education (high education),
  3. Recreation (active),
  4. Lifestyle (healthy).

Moreover, even though the participants started to change their lifestyle at the age of 75, they can still reap the benefits. This study also found that the best result can be seen in participants who never smoke and do regular exercise, such as swimming and calisthenics.
